Windows Messenger

I am running Windows XP Pro.

When i come to click on the icon fro Windows Messenger it does not open nor do i am able to sign in.

Is there anyway i can get it working or is can i downlaod the software from the net

I assume you are referring to Microsoft (MSN)Messenger the latest version of which is available at:

http://messenger.msn.com/Download/Default.aspx

Windows Messenger is a network messaging service that should be disabled unless needed over an internal network. It leaves a PC vulnerable to attack and is disabled by default in SP2.

You might have a security policie implaced on MSN you can enable MSN again using this security console.
(www.dougknox.com) click on utilities (XP Second Console) you must be in the Admin group though
