When 20 t0 30 users logs on to windows nt server cpu utilisation rises to 100 % and server hangs. No special software is load other than Anti virus and one foxpro applications.Two Network printers are configured using jetadmin utility.

1st make sure your server settings are set to balance(since you have less than 60 users). This setting is in NetworkProperties\Services Tab, then select Server Service and hit properties. 2nd, I would run a performance monitor and watch the OBJECT:PROCESS and the COUNTER:%PROCESSOR TIME, and add all the INSTANCES. HIT CTRL-H to highlight the active chart. Then use the arrow keys to see what's going on. Hope this helps, Joe
1) check if you have at least 64 megs of RAM 2) large enough pagefile for the NT User SAM 3) run NT Diagnostics, perfmon 4) make sure you are running the latest NT SP, which currently is 6 5) make sure antivirus, foxpro apps are latest versions and patched properly 6) make sure users aren't running errant apps, transferring 6gb files, or sabotaging your network.
