Windows NT 4 backup server Failing

    by rapell ·

I am in a medium sized company that runs on Win NT domains. Recently while carrying out tests for disaster recovery, i was preparing my backup server to go online so i could take off the PDC. Well i did that off production time and noticed that i could not connect to SQL server, so i reinstalled SQLBASE server. After rebooting, windows became soo slow and i cant do anything. When i try to open any application i get the message that The RPC server is too busy or unavailable. I tried to access services throuogh control panel but its the same thing. Am stuck and i need to know that in case the PDC fails, i can continue working. Help needed! Thanks

In case of the PDC failure did you try to promote a BDC to PDC. Then do on offline restore of the PDC without the SQL. Once the PDC is online then restore the SQL.
