Windows NT 4 Server shutdown

By gary ·
The other day I saw a Windows NT 4 server with a shutdown menu similar to Windows 95.
When the server was shutdown it would auotmatically power itself off rather than give the 'It is now safe....' message that NT usually does.

Does anyone know where I can get a patch to do this for my servers?! Is it a MS patch, TechNet, Select, 3rd party?!

Any help or pointers appreciated!

Thanks.

Windows NT 4 Server shutdown

Hey Gary,

By any chance was this a Compaq Server? There are some models of Compaq servers that with Compaq Software loaded will power off. I have not ran across any articles in Technet. So if it isn't a Compaq, its probably 3rd party. Good Luck.

Hi,

Yes it was a Compaq server and it would have had all the Compaq agents and things loaded.

Thanks.
