Windows NT 4.0- Lock Workstation

By murtaza_nasser ·
about 5 users in my remote branch office tell me that after they hit ctrl/alt/del to lock their workstations....their workstaions get unlocked automatically after a period of time. And this is happening INTERMITTENTLY.
Anyone ever seen this??

Windows NT 4.0- Lock Workstation

I doubt very much that Windows NT would "automatically unlock" itself. I think you are looking at a user pocedure problem. For example in your description "hitting Ctrl/Alt/Dlt" doesn't in itself lock the workstation. It simply brings up the Nt security screen which offers you a choice between Locking the workstation, Task Manager, logging off etc. If you don't hit any button, it will simply resume as normal after a while.

Make sure your users are actually hitting the Lock Workstation button.

If any of your users have downloaded MS Powertoys, this could be the problem. In the utility Control Panel/TweakUI/Network it has an auto logon option. I'd look there first.
