Hi, the easiest way is to use a 3rd party utility called partition magic (info. available on www.powerquest.com). This utility will allow you to convert from fat32 to fat16 and it will also allow you to set up partitions, move and resize them on thefly. Partition magic is available in any retail computer store or any of the computer stores on the web (www.outpost.com; www.buy.com; www.egghead.com, etc.) Hope this helps.

You might want to try to use a program call PC Commander it will also do all of you partioning and let you dual boot the problem you will run into is that a fat16 wont see a drive bigger then 2gb so before you do anything back up your system you will also go into fdisk and devide the whole drive into 2 gb partions then install you fats to 16 or 32 and with PC Commander you will be able to boot win98 or winnt or anything you want to run on it as far as OS go

Run Fdisk when you are prompted "would like to support large disk drives" SAY NO create your partition -- reboot and format your new partition this will be FAT 16. The posts above were correct in saying that you are limited to a 2Gb partition.

First things first...ALWAYS back up your system before playing with the partitions. I agree with using partition magic, however since you already have the system backed up you can completely wipe the hard drive then execute FDISK setting up the Win98 partition. Depending on whether you want 98 to be able to "see" the NT paritions or not you should leave the remainder of the disk alone as NT will take care of it for you during the install process. The system partition for NT can only be 4gb.Once you install SP4 and reboot you can use Disk Administrator (START-->programs-->admin tools common-->disk administrator) to create and format the larger paritition any way you like. You can boot the Win98 CD rom first (after backing up the system!!) and just boot to a command prompt with CD-rom support to use FDISK. Make sure to NOT enable the FAT 32 option. You can always convert AFTER the install. Then you can simply restore the backup to the first partition.

Hope I haven't confusedyou....let me know i

Back-up any work that you have created and saved to your hard drive. Make sure you write down what video, sound, network, and modem cards are installed. Boot with either a Windows 98, 95 or Dos 6.0 or later boot disk,. get to a command prompt and fdisk and delet partions on the hard drive, then get back to a command promt and run fdisk again to create an active partion, reboot again to a command promte and format the newly created partion, Install windows 98 first but do not make it fat32, then install Win NT and you will have a dual boot system in real good working order. Good luck
