    Windows NT registry

    Locked

    by dimitris ·

I have created a service so that when it starts it will open performance monitor to send me some alerts when a certain spooler process goes above some limits.
My problem is that, when the service starts it opens perfmon but not the perform workspace (alert.pmw) i want to run and after a while it gives me a message error 2186 The service is not responding to the control function. Does anyone have an idea how can i make the service work ? Or how can i through the registry to tell the service correctly which file to open or where to connect ?

      Hi,
create a batch file to run the programs you want. Then use srvinstw.exe in the NT4 resource kit to make the batch file run as a service.

      Thanks for the post! jer

Alert settings are saved with a .pma extension.
