Windows NT Server migration to Windows 2003

By mikeodur ·
I currently running NT server OS on Dell PowerEdge 2600 server biult. I am planning to migrate to Windows 2003 Server OS.
The Dell Server assistant CDs which were shipped with the machine only provide for windows 2000 server installations.
How can i go about installing my 2003 server

Well, I would see if all of the hardware is compatible, there is a pre-install portion that checks. Then get all of the latest drivers on cd.

If all of that checks out, then you should be able to install it. Hopefully you have read all of the other things that you have to do in order to make the transition to Active Directory, as well as ensured that all of your applications are compatible with 2003.

All of the Server 2003 driver should be available on Dell's website.

I installed Server 2003 on that model server, and had no issues. Windows had all of the drivers, and the PERC card has it's own BIOS, so I was able to configure the RAID arrays prior to install, and did not need an F6 driver.
