Windows NT Vs Windows 2000 Server

by bcot In reply to Windows NT Vs Windows 200 ...

win 2000 is supported nt4 isn't

On a more serious note all the processes of upgrading are well laid out in papers on this site. The learning curve to use w2k server can be steep, the entire server network structure is different -active directoryetc, much more complicated than NT4.

The workstations are easy to upgrade but the server upgrade needs some preplanning.

Essentially w2k server appears to have been designed with wan networks in mind. The plus side is that as a platform it isreliable and designed to take advantage of the web.

Hope this is a good starting point for you.
