Windows or Mac?

By Simeon Griggs ·

Long time reader, first time poster.

I'm currently working for a printing company, they want to move into web design as well and I've been doing it (on a SMALL scale) as a hobby for awhile now.

As I'll soon (next week hopefully) be signed up to a traineeship in Multimedia, I'm not sure what the industry standard is for web design.

Should I press we get another G4? Or get a new PC?

I know the PC option is cheaper, but I would like to be able to network the two (we only have one G4 at the moment) and share the internet accross them. I'm not networking expert (far from it) and I'm not sure if you can network Macs and PC's successfully together as well as share the internet.

Please help! Pc or Mac? YOU DECIDE ;o)

standard? be you

What is the use of being standard?
be special

OSX if a fine place for web developement
Apache, Perl and PHP on preloaded
MySQL goes on can develope in one window and have your browser testing in another
you can work as if its a mac or a BSD box

and mac has the world's best text editor, bbedit, from barebones software (bout $70 for cross upgrade).

i tried going PC and it was just not me
and PCs being cheaper is just a myth
They dip into lower price ranges but those are machines you dont want.

use what you like (and that is not a mac biased statement...i mean it all around)
