Windows Permissions

by rlalseta . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

Hello

I am facing a problem with windows permissions

Currently at the file system has about 7 different folders and each folder has its own specific permissions.

Type of Groups i have set in my active directory are

Modify Only
Read Only
Read/Write Only

Recently there has been a request by the managers to have an option for READ/WRITE permission for specific users in the domain.

I would like for a person to be able to read the document and at the same time the person can write on the same document( modify changes), but they should not be able to save he document on the same name or over write on that document. Instead it should ask to change the name or can be saved in a different folder if have permissions.

I have looked into xchacls.exe and subinACL,but it doesn’t make sense.

Any help would be highly appreciable.

Thank

Rishi
