windows printer test page

By rhaigh ·
I need to modify the text of the Windows Printer Test Page so I can include a request for users to mail the sheets back to me telling me where the printers are (beats walking round the site looking for 400 printers).

Only problem is I cant find the file that is used to generate the test page.

Anyone got any thoughts on this.

1. This is an option for many HP laser/desk jet printers.
2. The DEFAULTS.PJL file that is located on the DOS-Utilities disk. This file can be copied to the hard drive and accessed using the DOS Editor. If it has already been copied to the hard drive, this file may exist under the root directory or in the HPLJUTIL directory.
3. To copy the DEFAULTS.PJL file from the DOS-Utilities disk to the hard drive, use the following command: C> COPY A:\DEFAULTS.PJL C
4. Use Notepad to edit the DEFAULTS.PJL forms lines to read "FORMLINES=66".
5. Open the AUTOEXEC.BAT file with Notepad.
6. Move your cursor to the bottom blank line and type the following:Copy C:\DEFAULTS.PJL LPTI
7. Save the changes to AUTOEXEC.BAT
8. Note: if you don?t want to use LPT1 you may specify another LPT port in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
