I have started getting an annoying windows security alert message everytime I start my laptop. It is always the same alert saying Malware protection is turned off. I am running Webroot Antivirus with Antispyware version 6.1.0.110. The OS running on the laptop is windows vista home premium sp1. I am pretty sure windows has downloaded some update through automatic update which is now giving my grief. Windows security alert also informs that McAfee VirusScan is installed (came pre-installed when I bought the laptop last year) and its status is ON however the trial prescription expired in Jan which I did not renew, so I don’t think that is the problem but not sure.
Has anyone else encountered this or similar problem?
Any advice will helpful.
