Windows Server 2003

By mindoranto ·
I have windows server 2003 installed on a server with roughly 10 individuals who need to connect to the machine for files, the server is only being used as a file server. When there are 5 users logged onto the server the 6 user who tries to login gets denied. how do I increase this number so that more users can access our server at a time.

For Windows 2003 Server you need to putchase more Client Access Licenses (CALS) for File and print sharing. Contact your reseller to purchase a license pack for the # of additional users.
hope this helps.

thanks that's what I figured after doing some research but I was unsure if there was a work around because users aren't actually logging onto the network they are just accessing files...
