Our application running in the following configuration: COM+ (VB6 objects), MS-DTC (used from the same computer) and SQL2005 on Windows 2003. Suddenly, before number of days, whole application failed to run. We began to tests particular modules and found that all COM objects are not using DTC working fine, but in every application flow the first object that trying to use DTC failing without any intelligent error description. When cancelling transaction context to the same object, the object working fine.
We also discovered a MS security hotfix (KB925902) installed a day before. I not sure if it caused the problem, and, unfortunately, i cannot restore the system to previous state. During this (really hard !!!) days i tried to change every and every configuration item of DTC – with no success.
