Windows Service Update (WUS) 2003 SP1

I go away on holiday & I come back & WUS has corrupted itself and is asking for the original SQLrun03.msi that it used to install itself.
Database access error msgs in the event log.
So I uninstall & re-install WUS and it worked for one day & now I cannot access the 1st Webpapge of WUS, no error messages, just a blank screen. Nothing in the event logs.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH WUS???
Anyone else having trouble?

P.S. KB893756 will not install on this machine (update failed & keeps failing)
