Is anyone else having issues with automatic updates for XP Home SP2? I’ve not been able to install updates for nearly a month because the WGA tool is failing to install.
My copy is a legit, retail version I purchased. I can manually pass the check but this tool will not install. In fact, I can navigate to the C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution directory and run the update.exe but it fails with a error saying it can’t install.
I found a fix on the web from Microsoft support but it did not work. Any ideas?
