Windows Update Error

when I open windows update, I get the page and it comse up saying: Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software…

Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click Install or Yes to install the software.

It then says done in the bottom left corner and nothing else happens – no button to install or anything.

The Windows update log file seems okay except for one line that says: AutoUpdate failed: error 0x800401f3.

I tried their support for updates and couldn’t find anything about this type of error
