You will need to format your drive..

Completely before you install XP. More info here:

Please post back if you have more problems or questions

I recall I hard a hard time removing vista when i had to do it(it's been a while ). Initially I tried a Service Pack 2 copy of Windows XP and Vista would not allow the PC to load the XP cd on boot, I think I used an older copy of windows XP (no service pack) to do the job.

Also be sure that your motherboard's Bios is configured to boot from cd.

Before you do anything at all

Open the Device Manager and ,make a list of your Hardware.

After you have done this search the web for XP Drivers for your computer. Download these drivers if they are available and save them to some external Storage Device so you can install them after XP is loaded.

Use a Wiping Utility like Boot & Nuke to Blow away the Copy of Vista and then insert the XP Install Disc and install XP onto your System.

After XP is installed load the drivers that you have already downloaded.

Of course if XP Drivers are not available for any of your Hardware do not proceed as that piece of Hardware will not function after XP is installed.
