Upgrade from XP to Vista

If you have already checked Dell's web site to see if they have a Vista driver, you can go into Vista's Device Manager, and see if it appears there. If it does, right-click it and click on Uninstall. Restart your computer, and hopefully, Vista will install the driver to make it work. Failing that, it's probably time to follow Dell's advice. If you don't want to open your computer, you can buy an external USB DVD/RW drive for about $100 at Best Buy.

I hope this helps.
