Windows Vista - 'My Computer' or 'Computer' as it is now known.

By Sam ·
Hello Experts!

Through some freak occurance, when I open up my 'Computer' icon on my laptop, running Windows Vista Business edition, I am greeted with this in 'Details' view.

It occurs on all other views too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have 'restored defaults' under folder view and even changed performance options, selected 'Windows Clasic' as my theme - no use.

Looks like damage to the file allocation tables. I have not yet had the opportunity to work with Vista. However I searched the net for information on diagnostics and found this article http://support.gateway.com/s/software/microsof/vista/7515418/7515418su202.shtml which instructs a user to run a startup diagnostic program built into MS Vista.

Caution, with any repair there is room for mistakes. Be sure to backup any files that are important to you before running the repair.

Hope this helps!
Danny
