Windows Voice Recorder, only recorded own voice and not Teams’ call voices

Hello,

Can anyone help please – I made a recording of a Teams’ call using the Voice Recorder on Windows. Only my voice was recorded and when I listen back, there is silence on the recording when the Teams call participants were speaking.

I would be really grateful if anyone could let me know if there is any way to access the silenced parts of the recording?

You’ll need to fix the recording issue instead.

So you’ll need some other program. Audacity, as recommended by rproffitt works fine. So do most screen recorders; they record what’s on (the whole or part of) the screen (like movies, IP-TV or zoom-sessions) and the sound. Their output usually is mp4 (movie including sound), not mp3 (sound only). To save on disk space, record a very small part of the screen.

It appears that even if you enable STEREO MIX on Windows, Teams bypasses that too. So an all software recorder doesn’t seem to be the answer.

What you noted with a screen and audio recorder that records the output will work EXCEPT (my bet) the microphone.

That seems a quite likely bet.

Why not employ a third-party recorder?

Recording system sound is not easy with system-built app. So I suggest you to use other software tool like OBS Studio, an open-source screen video and audio recorder that’s enjoyed by many people.
