Windows won’t load…..

by cyberghost_1 . Updated 21 years, 8 months ago

I have a PC that was given to me to fix. This is the problem. I turn it on and after a few screens…i.e…memory check…I get a screen that displays the following : \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM Archive is damaged, missing, or corrupt. To reinstall Windows from the CD or Disk. Press “R” at the first screen.

NOTE: THIS PC IS IN SPANISH, SO THE MESSEGE IS TOO. I AM ASSUMING THAT IT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT LETTER OTHER THAT “R” ON AN AMERICAN PC.

I follow that step, with no success. I “F Keys” don’t work either. I can only enter SETUP, by pressing DEL at Boot Up.

Please Help ASAP……I am reinstalling WinXP, the PC is a Generic PC…No Brand…what I do know is that it is using a Athlon 1.7 Processor.
