Windows XP install
Thanks to those who answered my earlier queries, (DrSean & others), re installing XP Professional.

I managed to successfully install it on 12 out of 14 PII machines with 64 Mb or Ram.

MORE QUERIES:

On the win98 machines still in the workgroup they log onto the workgroup ok and see the workgroup, i.e. the require a username, password and the workgroup name.

The XP machines see the workgroup ok, can share printers etc ok but on logon they will not accept the correct password. Instead a user can log on without entering any password. Also the logon screen only has a username and password field – no workgroup name is present.

I suspect the XP mahines are not set to log onto the workgroup??

Any ideas how to force them to use a workgroup logon.

The Win98 machines are set to a client for MS Networks logon with a logon to a NNT domain selected but i can’t find a similiar screen in XP.

Thanks in anticipation.

mick!
