Desperate for an explanation!
BACKGROUND: I work on an HP/Compaq nc6400 laptop. OS is Win XP Pro. I am a remote rep that logs into the laptop locally but have a company domain to login to if needed.

SITUATION: I’m often in the field w/o an AC power source. When my battery dies and OS shuts down, my account gets locked out. Once the OS is brougth back up, I can only login into the company domain and not my local station. I’m starting to really annoy my Help Desk folks. They say that they have never heard of such a problem. I know my password. Its the same under both profiles.

Question: Does windows have an account policy or is there a bug that causes an acct to be locked out when a laptop goes to shut down due to low power? OR…., am I really the problem?
