Windows XP Auto Log off trouble

    Locked

    by hentai_zombie ·

    Hi there everybody!
My friend’s PC (running XP) keeps logging off every 5 minutes.
Not just if it’s inactive for five minutes.
5 mins after logging on it logs off (back to the select user screen) no matter what you’re doing.

I’ve searched the interweb but i can only find things about screen savers and power option settings and non of these help.

Any of you uber brained techy geek kings got any ideas what could cause this?

What happens if you log on in Safe Mode?

Without knowing more of what you have already done I would say log on in Safe Mode and Scan the System for Infections of Virri or Spy/Mal Ware.

Sounds like possibly a virus. Are you running AntiVirus? Is it up-to-date?
