It could be a bad computer account.
You also want to make sure that DNS is installed and running on the server; and that the DHCP is handing out the server's IP as the DNS server.

Take a look and make sure that the GPO permissions for the Default Domain Policy are not preventing users from adding systems. By default, an authenticated user can add up to 10 computers to a domain.

Has your Network administrator setup the users accounts?
If not they can not log on the domain.

Has a local administrator of the XP machines joined these macines to the network?
I have seen machines drop from the domain and have to be readded to the domain.

Does the server have the users change their password at a set number of days. If the user have not log on the the domain within the set number of days, the domain administrator has to reset their password.

Good luck

first of all remove your machine from domain and put in workgroup. After that restart your computer.( it works enen if you logoff and login to your computer)Once your computer is restarted joined your computer to domain with the help of domain account which has administrative rights.Once it is joined just restart your PC it should work.
For problems like " Domain controller not available" disconnect and connect to the domain is the best solution.
