    Windows xp embedded USB trouble

    by jasoncarruthers77 ·

    Hello
I have built a windows xp embedded machine using the following hardware.
Arktek H61M (lga 1155) with a 2nd gen i3 cpu. The hard drive has been cloned from the original broken pc.
When I enter the bios the usb keyboard word perfectly and I change the sata settings to IDE and enable legacy.
When windows loads it finds new hardware and starts installing drivers. Once it gets to USB HOST both the USB keyboard and mouse die and don’t work.
    Please help if you can.
    Thank you in Advace

      Why WinXP?

You probably would be better off with a new operating system. WinXP has been out of support for over
10 years now, and it’s getting more and more difficult to find drivers and such (been there, done that).

        Thanks for pointing this out.
Trust me if I had any options I would use them.
I have a problem as stated. Not a new os.

I built Embedded XP images decades ago and you can’t move them to incompatible hardware.

I can’t guess how deep your knowledge of XP Embedded is and it’s not something I will go into here as it doesn’t matter as there is no way to build the XP Embedded image for that hardware today.

Fix: Replace the broken motherboard with the exact same make and model.

Contact the maker or author that build this image to see if they have replacement machines or repair services.

-> This is not a trivial thing to fix. You either have the knowledge and tools or you don’t.
