WIndows XP Fax/Modem

My PC is connected to my phone line and it tries to pick up my phone calls, And i like to stop that from happening. I even Uninstalled the MS Fax software that comes with Win XP and make sure my win fax is not running and its set not to pick up any calls. but the computer still does. Now what i do is that i disable my modem and enable ot every time i need to fax out something.
