The problem began to occur a week ago out of the blue. It will boot into Windows after it reboots itself a few times; during the first few tries the system boots up to the loading screen then reboots itself. Finally after a few attempts it will succesfully present the XP logon/welcome screen.
This problem seems to occur when I’m starting up the system for the first time that day. Once it gets into windows, the system works fine indefinitely.

NOTE: Other than applying Windows Updates the computer has not had any major upgrades, nor software installed.
