Locked

Windows XP login username field

By vince.shimala ·
Where in the registry can I lock in my username? When my PC's Window XP login box comes up the username is blank. I want my system to display my username each time I log into my PC so all I have to enter is my Windows password.

Hi

Try the following:

CLick Start>Run and type gpedit.msc then click OK.

Navigate to: Local computer policy\Computer configuration\Windows settings\Security settings\Local policies\security options.

In the right-hand pane you will see an entry: Interactive logon: Do not display last user name. Disable it.

Good luck

Where would this same setting be located on a Win 2000 PC. And...what does it mean that (If domain-level policy settings are defined, they override local policy settings)? If this is the case how can I change this settings on the domain server to allow the username to be kept in the local PC windows login box?

Txs Vince
