    Windows XP Network Glitches

    Locked

    by fnw web guy ·

I recently upgraded to Windows XP. Occaisionally, when browsing in Internet Explorer, I start getting ‘This page cannot be displayed’ errors. Once this happens, no web page will display. The only fix I’ve found is to open my network connection inthe control panel, and click ‘Repair Connection’. Once I’ve done this, I am able to access websites again. Eventually, though, the same thing happens, and I have to ‘repair’ the connection.
Has anyone run into this before?
I’m running an Athlon XP 1900+, and my internet connection is AT&T Cable Internet (previously AT&T@Home) through a basic Linksys router. Other PC’s connected to the same router don’t have this problem.

you left out the version of explorer you are using. If you are using the MSN explorer make sure you get the updates. There are some updates for xp already aswell. I have not had a problem like yours yet, but the problems I have experianced were resolved with the upgrade/patch.

Hmmm… this seems to be the only answer – I’m still having the problems with network connectivity, but I’d like to close out this question anyway. Thanks!

I am running IE6 – all Microsoft patches have been applied… thought I may have had it fixed, but as of last night, I still seem to lose my connection.
