Windows XP Outlook Express IE5Setup.exe

By 2025traywick ·
I am running Windows XP, Version 2002, Service Pack 2. When I try to open up Microsoft Outlook Express I receive the following error:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express 4.01 or greater. You can install Outlook Express by running IE5Setup.exe from the IES folder located on your CD or through the Windows Update website.

Please give me step by step instructions on how to do this through Windows Update website.

What Version of IE are you using

The easiest way to repair an Outlook Express installation is to re-install Internet Explorer.

However, if you are running IE 7, it's not that easy.

If you are running IE6, just download and re-install IE6 SP2 and that "should" take care of things.
