Windows XP Pro network question

By marym ·
My host computer is using Windows XP. I am trying to run a peer-to-peer network, using 3 other computers, including a windows 98. My question: do all the computers have to meet the minimum hardware requirements for XP , or does just the network card need to be compatible with XP?

No, only the machine running XP needs to meet the hardware requirements for XP. The others simply need to meet their OS requirements and be set up/configured correctly for networking. They don't need to meet ANY XP requirements...just to support your network standard (most likely ethernet).

Good luck!

If answer is correct, other systems just need to meet thier OS requirement. Just make sure the network settings are all the same and the firewall that is built into XP is diabled so all the computers can see each other.
