    Windows XP Pro Password Protected

    Have aquired an old Business computer, on start up, windows ask for a password. Dont Have One. Able to remove drive and install in another computer and access the contents but unsure of what to change or delete. What do I need to do in order to work around this problem

      You will have to re-install Windows software to the new hdd.

      Then you can access the contents, as long as this is your contents and not anyone else’s. If it is some else’s then please be kind and delete the contents because they are not yours to look at. 🙂

      [i]It depends on what type of computer you’re referring to and what type of password.[/i]

      [u]If it’s a log-in password:[/u]

      1. Format the hard drive while it’s in the other PC, then return to the old business computer and do a fresh install of the operating system of your choice.

      2. Leave it where it is and spend the rest of your life trying to guess the password.

      3. Either of the above.

      [u]If it’s a boot password:[/u]

      None of the above. 😉
