Windows XP Registry

By R_Fleming@TLP-Technologie ·
I have a company owned computer that an employee used at home. He made changes to the system so that when you boot the computer the ownership name now shows his personal name instead of the company as the User and registered owner. How do I edit the registry in order to return the User and owner to the Company name. (He no longer is with us.....!)

Goto the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
and Modify the data of the following two values:
RegisteredOrganization and RegisteredOwner
Then Exit the Registry and Reboot the computer

Navigate to this key:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\0B79C053C7D38EE4A\InstallProperties

You should be able to change owner name and company name there.

The easiest thing to do in this case is open the registery and the search for his name. Replace it with the name you want.
