Windows XP S3 upgrade error on Macbook Pro

by mycoach . Updated 15 years, 10 months ago

Have Windows XP SP2 installed under Bootcamp on a MacBook PRO. Unable to get SP3 to install as it fails with the following error during install:

“There is not enough disk space on C:\windows|$NTServiceParkUninstall$ to install Service Pack3. Setup requires 4 additional megabytes of free space. Fress additional space on your hard disk and then try again.”

It completes the ‘inventory’ phase on the status indicator and then during the install phase it gives the error.
Ran Windows Uninstaller fix, and checked that no C:\windows|$NT*.* files present and have 16 Gig free on HD.
