Windows XP: Screen Saver Dropdown List

By roym-work ·
How Can I remove <None> from the dropdown list on the screensaver tab in Control panel display?

I'm enforcing password protected with policies but the user is allowed to select is screensaver and by selecting <none> the password protection is de-activated.

Thanks

Windows XP: Screen Saver Dropdown List

You can't remove that option, the dropdown list means, either have a screen saver or not. None means No screensaver, other items in the list mean, You want a screensaver. To do what you say, you need to know some setting configurations which disableusers to modify certain settings, like screensaver, backgrounds etc...

From my research you can see the following links:

Hope that helps if you didn't find help continue on from where i was searching:

You could do that by the Group Policy Editor (Start,Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC). These settings are both located in User Configuration/ Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Display

Screen Saver executable name

... and you can then enforce their ability to access the Screen Saver tab by configuring this setting

Hide Screen Saver Tab

These settings can also be enforced via the Registry without group policies...

I don't think you want to go there.
