windows XP service pack 2 problems

By steve ·
The gentleman who is resposible for all the programming in my team has been having problems with his wireless connection ever since he installed XP service pack 2.

Obviously he doesn't want to uninstall the service pack 2 as it fixes lots of security issues.

As a technician myself, before I set up the business, I have been searching my brain as to the problem and how to solve it.

Probably been in management to long and not on the job.

Anyhow I can't figure out why it is messing around with his connection. It is very important for us to sort it out as he is responsible for the upkeep of our clients's websites and services which sometimes are done in the most unlikeliest places.

Can you help

Has the driver been updated for the wireless card for use with SP2?

Some more information would be helpful. Is he having problems connecting, getting kicked off, logging on to client computers? Try disabling the Windows Firewall. If this fixes it, re-enable it and then open the necessary ports.
