Windows XP SP2

By jcurry ·
Not sure if anybody else has had this or not, but after installing SP2 I have found a few items that did not work.
1) SMS no longer worked. If you need the fix please email me at jcurry@c1data.com

2) When hosting an FTP site on the pc, Mac users can no longer copy files to it. If you have a fix, please let me know

Have you tried disabling the windows firewall?

by tben In reply to Windows XP SP2

Well, XP SP 2 will automatically fire up the windows firewall upon installation.

And it does affect certain server and client programs, for example, my NAV server can no longer connect to the client PCs to make administrative changes to the NAV Client

This problem is resolved once I disabled the firewall for the time being while making changes.

Hope it helps :)

Disabled the firewall

by jcurry In reply to Have you tried disabling ...

I did disable the firewall and retested...no go. I enabled FTP Server and HTTP Server in the Advanced settings in Windows Firewall. I also added port 21 to the exceptions, but nothing. The Mac users can see everything in the ftp site and download it, but as far as being able to upload...nothing. Tried setting addt'l permissions (local admin) adding user accounts...setting the ftp site to require login and passwords, but nothing... thinking I may have to throw the ftp site on a spare W2K SP4 box I have laying around...unless you have any more ideas...?!?
