Windows XP SP2 Monitor disappearance

By wkmiller ·
After installation, have lost control of my monitor. Using a Sharp LL-T17A4B LCD. Under Display Properties (Settings), Screen Resolution
is locked at 640X480 pixels and Color Quality is locked in at "Lowest (4 bit". In System Properties Hardware(Device Manager) no monitor listed. Unable to reinstall drive because have to active monitor properties button...Screen size is gigantic and unbearable. Suggestions?

You'll need to define and download the drivers for you video card has nothing to do with your monitor. It would've been a great help if you posted what make and model your computer is. The more info you can provide the more help you'll recieve. Look in device manager it should say display adapter go to manufacters site and download the latest drivers.
Good luck, from what I've read about sp2 your gonna need it.

Just agreeing with queen1. Was reading about SP2 and video card drivers were high on the list of untested. Sorry, good luck.
