I recently attempted to load an APP requiring Net Framework 2.0SP1 and it failed. I can not successfully uninstall or re-install Net Framework 2.0SP1 without getting NetFramework Optimization Service errors v2.0.50727_x86 in the APP event log that point to kernel32.dll.
Everything all else works OK. All *.dll’s are registered correctly. Contacted Microsoft and support for SP3 is FREE (do you believe that) and they almost admitt that it has problems. I am told the only fix is to reformat and reload from scratch the OS with SP2. Anyone have any other ideas ?
