Windows XP stops responding

I have been running Windows XP Pro on at MSI M/B K7T266 Pro2 with a AMD 1700XP Processor and 256 Memory. The problem I have been seeing is Window XP Pro seems to stops responding intermittently, the keyboard does not work and the mouse pointer is still on the screen and can be moved. Pushing the reset button on computer will reset system and computer will again work for days until it stops responding again.
Has any one else see problems like this?
