windows xp-too many app.

By rebel157 ·
hello-strange question here-but-is there any publications out there, that tells you only the files you need to run a computer, without overcrowding, and having problems with other setups? example-i am having a BIG problem with my video adapter. i use a-emachine el 1200. windows xp home-32 bit. service pack 3. nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430. i updated to 480 yesterday. i am still having problems with the color staying at 32. i have tried lowering to 16, and changing my refresh up alittle higher to 72 or 75. i am a little leary about changing to something higher or different for i dont know what is really compitable with my machine, and what i have in there. i have a small problem changing to something else that looks good to me, and finding out it causes problems for some other app. can u help? thanks doreena

Rool Back the Driver

Most of the time when Nvidea releases a new driver it is primarily to add support for new graphics cards.

If version 430 worked well for you, I would suggest that you uninstall the 480 update and go back to version 430.

You may need to download the older version if you do not have it on your hard drive or a CD.

As far as your base question, most programs are independent of each other. However, many are dependent on assorted bits of Microsoft software. Be it the base Windows, the Net Framework, or even the visual C redistributable, many software packages do depend on other software released by Microsoft.
