windows XP trouble shooting tools

I have P4 system with windows XP, every thing is working fine except iam notable to installing any drivers for any hard ware which supports XP. even iam notable to installing Loopback adapter also it is giving error like this (An error occured during the installation of the device, system cannot find the file specified)
