Windows XP vs. Windows 2000 on Company LAN

By bds_1959 ·
I was in the process of trying to get all of the Windows 2000 workstations off my Company LAN and get XP workstations in their place. Now, we are adding new employees, and my boss wants me to go back and use the 2000's. I need some "ammunition" and 3rd-party justification as to why this is a "bad" idea, and why it would be better to purchase new workstations. (With VISTA, with the "downgrade" to XP.) Any ideas??? Thanks!

Telling him that the old computers are not up to the spec needed to install xp and will slow down the performance of the machines, it's better to get new ones as the machines will be able to handle the new OS and that it will cost less down the line if you get the new machines, as the old ones are likely to play up.

Tell him that it may look like he is spending money on the new machines but in turn this will pay for it self because of less down time on the machines if they are new watch him hand you the money lol
