Windows XP w/SP2 & Compact Flash

I have an e-Machine 6805 with a CF slot. I am trying to install a GlobalSat CF GPS. Windows will ONLY recognize & try to configure it as a mass storage device. I’ve uninstalled the CF drivers that come with Windows, and install the GPS driver, but it’s a no go. I need to findout how to disable the default CF drivers so I can use the GPS drivers instead. (and no E-Machine support was no help either)
