windows xp wont boot??

packard bell easynote g1 pwers up ok but xp wont run even in safe mode. Have spoke to a friend and he says i need run recovery disk. I havent got original disk is there a download or where can i get 1???

have to contact HP for a recovery disk, or possibly there is a recovery partition on your hard drive that they can tell you how to boot to and what to do.

Yeah had been told that has happened before and had to get hard drive replaced.

Pressing the F10 key at boot I believe will launch the recovery if it does exist.
I posted something earlier..but for some reason thought it was a toshiba, my apologies.

able to send you a recovery CD. you shouldn't have to replace the hard drive unless it is bad. They usually charge $10 - $20 for the recovery CD/DVD. It has been awhile since I have had to order recovery CDs so I'm not sure what the price is now adays.
