Windows2K Setup

I’ve been having a lot of problems trying to set up Windows 2000 Pro by both an upgrade from a previous version of Windows and from a clean install. After the setup finishes and W2k loads for the first time, it ALWAYS freezes at the splash screen with the little blue bar that moves across the bottom. Like I said, this happens after an upgrade and even after a clean install. My computer originally came with Windows 2000 Pro, so I don’t think my system is the problem. Since I got it, I have addeda new Video Card and a new Sound Card, but they are both compatible with Windows2KPro. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
