I have a Windows98 machine running SQL and it works great. I have a Windows95 workstation that can access the SQL database on the windows98 machine but when it makes changes to the data, specifically French Accents they look fine at the 95 workstation but when viewed from the 98 machine they appear as # symbols or other characters.
The same applies when the 98 machine puts in French accents, they appear fine from the 98 machine, but the 95 machine see’s them as # symbols?

Go to your control panel and under add/remove software/programs make sure you have the latest character map installed(from your CD-rom) or you can find one at microsoft.com and download one file to be installed on both machines

Win95 and Win 98 use different versions of CHARMAP.EXE. Win95 uses v.4.00.950. Check in C:\Windows\CHARMAP.exe >properties for the version numbers. Copy the latest version to the other win95 machine.
